OPINION

HAZUS.org is supporting the development of the Global Earthquake Model and encourages FEMA/DHS to evolve HAZUS-MH to be consistent and compliant with GEMS. The U.S. Geological Survey is actively participating in the development of GEMS. It makes no sense for two U.S. government agencies to go down competing and possibly conflicting paths.
