OK, I'll temper my comments.

Whose bright idea was it not to have the HAZUS conference at the annual ESRI conference? I could justify attending the ESRI event but I cannot get the powers that be to pay for a HAZUS only conference, even if it is only a couple of states away.

Also why Raleigh in August, the middle of the Atlantic coast hurricane season! Just look back to Hurricane Fran that pummeled the Raleigh, North Carolina region during pretty much the same time period!

AGREE 100%!

Hard to imagine that HAZUS has enough draw to justify a stand-alone event. FEMA can't even fill the HAZUS courses at EMI, what makes them think they can draw enough folks to have an effective HAZUS only conference.

It is good this is starting to get some dialog but lets not start a flame directed at FEMA. Comments on the HAZUS.org site are moderated.

Word is now that FEMA can't find a suitable location for the event. Come on folks how can we plan?

With about 2 months to go FEMA still has not announced a venue! This is making it impossible for me to get approval by my management to attend this event. I can't even show if there is a real conference and what is being presented!
